EQUIWORK — CONTROLLED TERMS — THE CANONICAL TERMINOLOGY REGISTER OF THE CORPUS — Canonical Version 1.0

PREAMBLE

This document is the controlled terminology register of the EquiWork doctrine corpus.

The earlier documents established the founding claim, tested the doctrine under objection, disciplined the modes and limits of knowing, showed how doctrine becomes architecture, and defined the framework of responsible learning.

Each of those documents used words with deliberate weight. This document now fixes those words.

Its purpose is not decoration and not lexicography for its own sake. A doctrine that speaks of truth, trace, evidence, proof, recognition, and canon, but allows those words to drift, will eventually corrupt itself through its own vocabulary. Silent substitution of one term for another is one of the quietest ways a doctrine loses integrity.

Therefore this register exists to lock the corpus vocabulary, preserve its distinctions, bind its English and Russian forms in parity, and serve as the reference of record whenever a term is disputed.

This document obeys the epistemic distinctions of the Epistemic Framework, the language, speech, and anti-cult safeguards of the Teaching Framework, the rule of bilingual parity, and the principle that language must never be worshiped.

It binds itself to its own discipline: it is revisable, but only through append-only version discipline, never through silent in-place edit.

PART I. THE PURPOSE OF CONTROLLED TERMS

1. WHY A REGISTER IS REQUIRED

Words carry the doctrine between documents, between languages, and between people. When a load-bearing word shifts meaning without notice, every document that relied on it inherits the shift.

The register exists to make such shifts impossible to perform silently. A term may still be corrected, but only openly, with a version, a reason, and a trace.

2. WHAT THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT

This document is not a dictionary of general language. It does not attempt to define every word the corpus uses.

It governs only controlled terms: words whose meaning the doctrine depends on, whose confusion would damage the doctrine, and whose English–Russian binding must remain stable.

3. THE AUTHORITY OF THE REGISTER

When a controlled term is disputed across documents, this register is the reference of record. A later document may not redefine a locked term by mere usage; it must either conform to the lock or open an explicit revision.

The register itself is not above examination. It holds the same standing as canon: settled, but not infallible.

PART II. THE RULES OF TERM DISCIPLINE

4. LOCKED AND PROPOSED

Every entry carries a status.

A locked term may be corrected only by versioned supersession, never by quiet replacement.

5. SYNONYMS ARE NOT ANCHORS

A controlled term has exactly one canonical anchor in each language. Contextual synonyms may be noted, but a synonym never becomes the anchor by use. For example, the canonical anchor for interpretation is интерпретация; толкование may appear as a contextual variant but is not the anchor.

6. ENTRY SCHEMA

Each entry is recorded as:

term (EN) — RU canon — domain/order — distinction-from — status [LOCKED / proposed]

and carries a definition, the distinction it must preserve, and the source documents that support its lock.

PART III. THE BILINGUAL PARITY RULE

7. PARITY, NOT TRANSLATION

English and Russian are both first-class languages of the corpus. The binding between an English term and its Russian anchor is a parity relation, not a word-for-word translation.

Parity means conceptual parity, claim parity, limit parity, and terminology discipline. The Russian anchor must carry the same doctrinal force as the English term; neither language may erase or outrank the other.

8. THE FORCE OF EACH LANGUAGE

Where a single English word splits into two Russian anchors, or the reverse, the register records the split explicitly rather than collapsing it. A split that exists in meaning must be preserved in both languages.

PART IV. CONTROLLED TERM ENTRIES

9. THE ORDER OF TRUTH AND KNOWING

truthправда / истина Domain: epistemic order of truth. Definition: правда is operational, human, provable, doctrinal truth within EquiWork’s domain; истина is ultimate, metaphysical, or ineffable truth. Distinction: the two are not interchangeable; operational truth claims must not borrow the authority of ultimate truth, and ultimate truth must not be reduced to what the system can hold. Status: LOCKED — Doc 3; applied Doc 5 §2, §10.

traceслед Domain: epistemic ground. Definition: the retained sign that something occurred, was fixed, signed, witnessed, or recognized. Distinction: more than memory, less than evidence; a trace does not interpret itself. Status: LOCKED — Doc 3 §9; Doc 5 §5.

evidenceсвидетельство Domain: epistemic ground. Definition: trace made relevant to a claim through relation, authorship, integrity, and reviewability. Distinction: stronger than isolated trace, weaker than proof; accumulation is not evidence. Status: LOCKED — Doc 3 §10; Doc 5 §6.

proofдоказательство Domain: epistemic threshold. Definition: the justified establishment of a claim within a defined domain of criteria. Distinction: stronger than evidence but narrower than truth; proof must not claim sovereignty beyond its criteria. (Distinct from the system operation proof, see §14.) Status: LOCKED — Doc 3 §11.

PART V. THE NON-NEGOTIABLE DISTINCTIONS

15. THE LADDER

The following distinctions are binding for the entire corpus and may not be blurred by any document:

Any document that collapses one of these must be corrected.

PART VI. REVISION AND CORRECTION DISCIPLINE

16. TERMS ARE REVISABLE, NOT DISPOSABLE

A locked term may be corrected, but only through versioned supersession with a stated reason. The prior form is never erased; it remains in the append-only history.

17. NO SILENT SUBSTITUTION

No document may replace a locked anchor with a synonym in passing. A change of anchor is a doctrinal act and must be recorded as such.

18. THE REGISTER IS BOUND BY ITS OWN RULES

This register holds canonical standing, not infallibility. It is subject to the same examination it imposes on every other term, under the same append-only discipline.

PART VII. FINAL DECLARATION

19. WHAT THIS DOCUMENT SECURES

This document secures the controlled vocabulary of the EquiWork corpus.

It establishes that controlled terms have fixed English–Russian anchors, that their distinctions are binding, that synonyms never silently become anchors, that splits in meaning are preserved in both languages, and that any correction proceeds only through open, versioned supersession.

It protects the corpus from the quietest form of corruption: the slow drift of its own words.

20. FINAL FORMULA

The EquiWork Controlled Terms register exists so that the words on which the doctrine depends remain stable, distinguished, and bilingually faithful — correctable in the open, never mutated in silence.

This is the controlled terms register.
